Botanic Gardens Kiel

Living plant collections

The Botanic Gardens Kiel cultivate more than 10,000 plant species outdoors and in their greenhouses. Focus areas of these collection are, for example, plants of the flora of the Canarian Islands, succulents of southern Africa, carnivorous plants, and species of the Passiflora and Paeonia genuses. With these collections, the Botanic Gardens Kiel are part of an international network of Botanic Gardens around the world that preserve extensive parts of the plant diversity of our threatened planet.
